Students are also expected to be able to demonstrate a level of commitment to making a significant impact at their school and society in general.

Wells Fargo, one of the largest and oldest financial institutions in the United States, has partnered with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) to provide scholarship opportunities to African American students with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Wells Fargo's commitment to diversity and inclusion goes back more than 30 years. They also have programs that support Black entrepreneurs.

The TRESemmé team is committed to using their influence and platform to elevate the Black community in beauty and fashion. They have launched an annual tuition fund of $100,000 to help Black women offset the cost of cosmetology school.
Apple's $40 Million HBCU Scholarship Program Includes a 12-Week Summer Internship
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) has partnered with Apple to present the Apple HBCU Scholars Program. Exceptional students currently attending HBCUs with a minimum GPA of 3.0 are invited to apply. However, they must be working towards earning a Bachelor's degree, Master’s degree, or a Ph.D.

Her non-profit organization called the Blues Babe Foundation provides scholarships and also mentorships to students all over the country. The program seeks students who do well academically, but lack the financial resources to start and/or finish college.
Ossie Davis Legacy Award/ United Negro College Fund (UNCF)
Ossie Davis was a film, television and Broadway actor, director, poet, playwright, author, and civil rights activist. To recognize his accomplishments, the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) has created a scholarship fund in his name to help African American students pay for tuition and other college expenses. To be eligible, students must be already attending or planning to attend an HBCU in the fall.
