Ray Charles scholarship

Scholarship assistance through The Ray Charles Foundation will help African-American students with high academic promise to defray their significant financial need. For the current academic school year, 5 scholarship awards will be made to students who meet the following eligibility criteria, and will be renewable up to one-year provided these criteria are maintained.
Applicants must be:

* African-American;

* College juniors enrolled full-time at a UNCF member institution;

* Students who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; and

* Students who have a demonstrated unmet financial need (per your college or university Office of Financial Aid).

The Ray Charles Foundation is dedicated to providing support to young people through education by offering support to educational institutions and non-profit education programs. The vision of the foundation is to instill in the youth of America that “there is no challenge too great one cannot overcome.”

The deadline to apply is usually in MARCH, and the award amount is usually up to $4,500.
