Ford Blue Oval/ Thurgood Marshall College Fund Scholarship

African American Ford Motors scholarship recipients

Ford Motor Company Fund, which has been manufacturing vehicles for more than 100 years, has partnered with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) to offer scholarship awards to current high school seniors that are planning to attend college. Ford supports the African American community in many other ways including their award-winning supplier diversity program and other outreach programs.
The Ford Blue Oval Scholarship is open only to African American male students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Designated scholars will receive a one-year scholarship for the upcoming academic school year.

Eligibility requirements:

* Must be an African American male graduating high school senior

* Must be enrolled as a full-time student at one of TMCF’s 47 member-schools for the 2019-2020 academic school year

*Must hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher

* Must demonstrate financial need

*Must exhibit leadership abilities through a variety of measures

* Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent legal resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

Applicants must also submit a current Student Aid Report (received from filing FAFSA), a most recent (official or unofficial) transcript, and a recommendation letter from a current school faculty member (recommendation must be completed online by the recommender). Applicants must also descriptively respond to a provided essay question.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH, and the award amount is $6,200.
