Lowes/ Thurgood Marshall College Fund

Scholars from the Thurgood Marshall Fund and Lowes scholarship program

Lowes, one of the largest retail companies in the world specializing in home improvement, has established a partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) to provide need-based scholarships to African American college students. To be eligible, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA, and must already enrolled in a college as a sophomore, junior or senior.
Other requirements include completing a FAFSA application, being at risk of not returning to school or graduating due to an outstanding financial need, and also an outstanding balance remaining on their account.

Applicants must also submit the following documents for consideration:

* Resume (should demonstrate community service and leadership abilities)
* Current Account Balance Statement
* Current Year's Student Aid Report
* College Transcript (official or unofficial)

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY each year, and the award is usually $500 to $7,500.
