Jay-Z Scholarship Program For Students Who Want to Study Abroad

Jay-Z, founder of the Shawn Carter Foundation

Rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z is using his Shawn Carter Foundation to partner with the University of the Arts London/ London College of Communication to create a cultural exchange program that helps students study abroad. The program, called NYLON, exposes students to a cross-cultural, academic experience designed to encourage them to be world influences and leaders in global business development.
The partnership between the Shawn Carter Foundation and the Institute for International Education (IIE)/Gilman International Scholarship Program is designed to expand global experiences and leadership opportunities for underserved students through the funding of full study-abroad scholarships.

Eligible Shawn Carter Scholars will undergo a screening and selection process by IIE/Gilman and a shortlist of recommended students will be forwarded to the Shawn Carter Foundation for the final selection of candidates. All applicants are required to complete a follow-on service project so that their study abroad experiences and insights are shared with their homes school and communities, a necessary component of “giving back.”

The deadline for this scholarship VARIES, and the scholarship amount covers all travel and living expenses.
